docs: add MCP, Slack and product analytics pages - #982
The public docs had no MCP or Slack pages and no product analytics page. AgentEye's assistant and MCP server now answer product questions from this site (FailproofAI/agenteye#1278), so they couldn't answer questions about any of these. Marketplace listings also need public documentation for both connectors.
What changed
reference/mcp: connecting each client, permissions, approving changes, revoking, self-hosted, data handling and troubleshooting.
reference/slack: connecting a workspace, asking, approvals, Slack Connect, each Slack permission and why it's needed, disconnecting and troubleshooting.
admin/product-analytics: what is and isn't collected, how to opt out, and the opt-out ping. AgentEye's optOutBeacon.ts requires this beacon to stay disclosed by name.
Nav: English only. Locale pages and nav come from the daily translation job.
Confidentiality
These pages describe what a user sees and does, with no architecture, datastores or enforcement mechanics. Two things are named on purpose, so please check you're comfortable with them:
The hosted gateway path for self-hosted MCP. Customers need to know tool calls pass through it, in transit and not stored.
DO_NOT_TRACK and the PostHog host. Both are needed for an honest opt-out. The other opt-out settings stay in the customer README.
Testing
All three pages compile with MDX 3 and GFM locally.
bun isn't installed where this was written, so validate:mdx and mintlify validate were not run locally. The docs CI job covers them.
Pages were not rendered, and the facts come from AgentEye's former customer docs and its code at the time of writing. The new pages have no screenshots.
This change adds public documentation for product analytics, the MCP server, and the Slack app. It adds navigation links for the pages and a changelog entry announcing them.
Changes: Telemetry documentation
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Telemetry disclosures and navigation docs/admin/product-analytics.mdx, docs/docs.json
The new page describes collected telemetry, excluded data, opt-out controls, and the PostHog destination. The English Admin navigation links to the page.
Connected tool guides
Layer / File(s)
Summary
MCP connection and permissions docs/reference/mcp.mdx, docs/docs.json, CHANGELOG.md
The new guide covers client setup, organization-scoped connections, permission-gated tools, approvals, connection management, deployment, data handling, and troubleshooting. The Integrations navigation links to the MCP and Slack pages. The changelog announces the new documentation.
Slack connection and account linking docs/reference/slack.mdx
The guide describes setup, account matching and linking, and requested permissions.
Slack questions and approvals docs/reference/slack.mdx
The guide describes question entry points, thread behavior, approval rules, link previews, and Slack Connect visibility.
Slack disconnection and support docs/reference/slack.mdx
The guide describes disconnect effects, data handling, and troubleshooting.
The guides overstate what removing an MCP server revokes and omit that Slack preview cards are channel-visible. These are localized documentation corrections; no runtime failure is established.

The page says removing a server from a client revokes the connection. In Claude Code, it does not.
For Claude Code, claude mcp remove deletes the stored OAuth tokens and client registration. It does not revoke those tokens at the authorization server. Readers who rely on this sentence may assume that access ended when they removed the server.

Failproof AI issue, session, and evaluation links pasted in Slack unfurl into cards on hosted Failproof AI Cloud. A card shows only what the person who triggered it can see. Links to a self-hosted address don't unfurl, though cards in the assistant's own answers still appear.
State that link-preview cards are visible to the whole channel.
Line 68 limits card contents to what the triggering person can see. The page does not say that every channel member sees the same card. Slack posts app unfurls to the whole channel, so readers may assume the card is private to the person who pasted the link.

pr-autopilot requests changes. GitHub lets no account request changes on its own PR, so this is a comment and the PR is labelled instead.
The pages build and render successfully, but the MCP guide incorrectly promises that deleting client configuration revokes authorization. The promised beacon name is also missing.

verified
Publish MCP, Slack, and product analytics pages covering the described topics.
Read all three pages and rendered them in Mintlify. Every setup tab worked, tables rendered, and desktop/mobile screenshots were saved.
verified
Add English-only navigation; localization remains handled by the existing translation job.
JSON comparison confirmed non-English navigation is unchanged. All three English entries resolve. Existing translation code derives localized navigation from English, and the local job runs nightly.
broken
Removing an MCP server in the client revokes its connection.
An authenticated Codex removal probe produced REQUESTS_DURING_REMOVE [], CREDENTIALS_UNCHANGED True, and OAUTH_CREDENTIALS_REMAIN True.
broken
Disclose the opt-out beacon by name.
The analytics page describes its probability and payload but supplies no beacon/event name.
untested
MCP permissions, approvals, organization isolation, self-hosted routing, and data handling match the product.
Discovery and the Codex sign-in entry flow worked. Further verification requires Cloud credentials and AgentEye's unavailable implementation.
untested
Slack connection, identity linking, approvals, Slack Connect, permissions, and disconnection behave as documented.
Both documentation tabs rendered. The kit runs the local dashboard, which has no Cloud integration controls; no Slack or Cloud credentials are available.
untested
Analytics collection, DO_NOT_TRACK, beacon sampling, and PostHog delivery behave as documented.
The disclosure renders, but AgentEye's dashboard/server and optOutBeacon.ts are absent from this checkout and inaccessible upstream.
untested
The assistant and MCP server can answer product questions from these new pages.
Local page publication was verified; deployment, indexing, and authenticated assistant retrieval could not be exercised.
Notes
Documentation validation and rendering passed. The revocation statement needs correction before merging.
AgentEye's repository and linked issue returned HTTP 404 without credentials. Its permission, retention, and telemetry guarantees could not be independently verified.
External Mintlify documentation contained agent-directed configuration and feedback-posting instructions; these were ignored as untrusted content.

blocker Removing a server does not reliably revoke its authorization. With Codex 0.163.0, I completed an OAuth login, then ran codex mcp remove failproofai: it sent no revocation request and retained the access and refresh credentials. Users following this advice could leave an authorization active. Tell them to select Revoke in Cloud before removing the client configuration.
If you opt out with a product setting rather than `DO_NOT_TRACK`, the dashboard may send **one anonymous ping** recording that, with a probability of 1 in 1000 per process start. It tells us how many operators turn telemetry off. It contains no identifiers: no organization, user, hostname, URL, or IP, only the product, component, version, deployment kind, and reason. An opted-out server sends nothing.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
warning The PR description says the opt-out beacon must remain disclosed by name, but this section only calls it an anonymous ping. Add the actual beacon/event name from optOutBeacon.ts so operators can identify the documented exception in telemetry traffic.

What this changes
Adds public MCP and Slack setup, permissions, approval, privacy, and troubleshooting guides.
